Thabiti Anyabwile Desires To Depart From “Evangelicalism”

Thabiti Anyabwile has announced via Twitter his desire for a departure from what Is known as “evangelicalism”. Thabiti Anyabwile (MS, North Carolina State University) is a pastor at Anacostia River Church in southeast Washington, DC.

Thabiti specified that this desire for departure is based on socio-political norms that traditionally made up of the majority conservative Christianity which impacts the understanding of this world and what God expects from its church as it engages with this world specifically politcally.

As of recent, according to many within the reformed stream of Christianity, Thabiti and The Gospel Coalition have become more “liberal” and less centered on the gospel of Jesus and have turned to more social gospel narratives that are considered by the more conservative wing of Christian thought as contrary to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
